Jessica Applestone -- "Mayer-Avedon Women's Support Group" -- is a freelance writer and publicist based in New York City who has written for City Life News Tokyo, Tokyo Journal, and Body Positive. She is deeply involved with the Buddy Program at Gay Men's Health Crisis.

Ron Drummond -- "Torso of Apollo Recast" -- lives and writes in New York City. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre arts. His poems have appeared in Poetry New York, The James White Review, and The Harvard Gay & Lesbian Review.

Laura Engle -- "News Flash" -- is a freelance writer and frequent contributor to Body Positive. She was a regular editorial consultant for the Recreation/Nutrition/Child Life Department at Gay Men's Health Crisis, Inc., and produced two of the department's client newsletters, Recreation News and Child Life News.

Dylan Foley -- "Bob Chapman" -- is a freelance writer who has contributed to Body Positive and has been a volunteer with the Lower East Side Needle Exchange.

David Gold -- "Vaccine Approaches Currently in Development" -- is editor of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) Report, a quarterly newsletter with a global orientation that focuses on AIDS vaccine research and development. He was a former director of Medical Information at Gay Men's Health Crisis, and editor of their newsletter, Treatment Issues.

Walter Holland -- "Dinner, Ulster County 1995" -- is the author of A Journal of the Plague Years, Poems 1979-1992. He lives and writes in New York City.

Valerie Michele Hoskins -- "What's Spirit Got To Do With It?" -- is editor of Body Positive, and a consultant who provides print and electronic publishing services to not-for-profits.

Marj Plumb -- "Gay & Lesbian Doctors Warn Against Mandatory Reporting" -- is the director of public policy for the San Francisco-based Gay & Lesbian Medical Associacion, an organization of 2,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender physicians and medical students from all 50 states and 12 countries.

Dennis Rhodes -- "Orphan" -- is a former Body Positive board member. He hosts "The Poet's Corner" on WOMR-FM radio in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Brian Riordan -- "Calla Lilies" -- lived in New York City where he worked for 17 years as a theatrical agent. He graduated from Queens College with degrees in English Literature and Creative Writing. Brian died of AIDS at age 45 on September 5, 1997.
