Caring and Contributing: Garden Gala 14

As summer gives way to fall, Body Positive looks back fondly at our major event of the summer season: the 14th annual Garden Gala held on June 9th. Held at the stunning oceanside home of Jerry Della Femina and Judy Licht in East Hampton, Long Island, and hosted by ABC-7's Sam Champion, the event brought together 250 supporters to raise funds for the work of Body Positive.

"The sun was as strong as the support of our donors at this year's Garden Gala! Matched by the graciousness of a group of 'angels' who donated their time as our staff, was the added talent and performance by Steve Schalchlin, an artist living with AIDS. This combination made the event more than a smashing success," said Body Positive Executive Director Michael Dentato. "There were great conversations about the need for continued support from our donors, the changing face of AIDS funding, and our commitment to the AIDS community as long as we are needed. We now begin planning our 15th annual gala for next year, in which we will institute the James Revson Memorial Award."
