Kentucky: Entertainment Has AIDS Message

August 20, 2003

The Kentucky Department for Public Health HIV/AIDS Branch and the state Department of Education are sponsoring a conference aimed at educating young people about HIV and other STDs. The conference will be held Saturday, August 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dunbar Center, 565 North Upper Street in Lexington. Those ages 13-24 are invited to participate in activities that will teach principles of abstinence, negotiating/refusal skills and safer sex. The event will feature food, entertainment and talent competitions. Parental consent is required for participants younger than 18.
