Wyoming Looks for AIDS Funding

February 3, 2003

Wyoming's federal funding for HIV/AIDS assistance programs has run out, and state Health Department officials are looking for an additional $50,000 to cover costs until Wyoming receives federal grants in April. In the meantime, Brent Sherard, interim director of the state Health Department, is looking for money within the agency. "We want to be absolutely certain that we can provide as much care as possible to our HIV/AIDS-infected individuals in the state," he said. Every April 1, Wyoming receives $340,000 in federal money for HIV/AIDS assistance programs.
