Pakistan Takes Steps to Check Spread of HIV

Pakistani Foreign Minister Mahmud Kasuri said Tuesday that the nation has taken a number of steps to stop the trend of increasing HIV infections. These steps include the initiation of the National AIDS Control Program and the introduction of an ordinance on safe blood transfusion. In his meeting with Nafis Sadik, former executive director of the UN Fund for Population Activities, Kasuri also discussed the policies the government has adopted to control population growth.Adapted from:
