UNICEF Resumes Immunizing ChildrenJune 20, 2003 UNICEF has resumed its routine immunization of Iraqi children -- a program that was halted when the war began on March 19. UNICEF said the 210,000 babies born in the 90 days since the start of military action are at risk of tuberculosis, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough and measles -- all of which are preventable through inoculations.
