News Briefs UNAIDS Grants Ivory Coast $92 MillionMarch 24, 2003 In one of the worst affected countries in West Africa, UNAIDS will release $92 million to help fight HIV/AIDS in Ivory Coast, according to a government source. The funds will help finance AIDS programs over a five-year period that have clear timetables and are monitored regularly. Out of a population of some 16 million, close to one million people in Ivory Coast are HIV-positive.
