HIV/AIDS Training Institute May 27-30 at the Westin Hotel in
Charlotte, N.C. The New York-based not-for-profit organization is
on an international mission to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS by
providing education and support networks for all people affected
by the epidemic. The goal of the conference, which is for church
members only, is to establish and strengthen HIV/AIDS education,
prevention and care services in the church and community. This
year's theme is "Bridging the Gap Between Compassion and
Theology." Speakers will include Dr. George Roberts, special
assistant for communities of color at CDC, who will discuss "The
African Diaspora: An AIDS Update," and Robert Polito, director
for faith-based and community initiatives for the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services, who will present an update on the
White House's faith-based initiative. For information, telephone
