University of California -- San Francisco AIDS Expert Accepts UCLA Post

Tom Coates, who helped make the University of California -- San Francisco a leader in the field of AIDS research, is leaving the school. In September, Coates will resign as executive director of UCSF's AIDS Research Institute. He has held the post since the 1996 launch of the institute. Coates has accepted a position at the University of California -- Los Angeles Medical School because his partner has also accepted a position at UCLA. At UCLA, Coates will teach and continue his AIDS research.
