U.S. News California: AIDS Emergency Fund Hosts Dining Out EventNovember 11, 2003 On Nov. 12, the AIDS Emergency Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to San Franciscans with HIV/AIDS, is asking supporters to dine at one of 28 Noe Valley and Castro restaurants that will donate 25 percent of the evening's food and drink sales to the AIDS and Breast Cancer Emergency Funds. AEF hopes the Dine Around event will raise $25,000-$30,000. The agency can help with the rent, medical bills or utility bills for San Francisco residents with disabling HIV/AIDS who earn less than $1,900 a month. There will be a drawing to win a future dinner for two from any of the participating restaurants, and guests can purchase tickets for an after-dinner dessert and wine reception at 8 p.m. at the LGBT Community Center at 1800 Market Street. Tickets cost $15 in advance at Under One Roof or $10 the night of the event with proof of dining out. For a full listing of participating restaurants, visit www.dinearoundsf.org.
