Michigan: Stop AIDS -- The First Important Step Is to Get Tested

For National HIV Testing Day on Sunday, June 27, thousands of communities across the country will offer tests and provide prevention information to help fight the disease. In Detroit, which has nearly half of Michigan's estimated 16,000 AIDS cases, AIDS Partnership Michigan will offer free, confidential or anonymous tests during extended hours on Tuesday, June 22, 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 24, 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The organization is at 2751 E. Jefferson. For more information on testing sites, telephone 1-800-872-2437 from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. weekdays, or 1-800-342-AIDS around the clock. Visit the Web site at www.hivtest.org.
