Wisconsin: University Hosting AIDS Day Events

November 30, 2004

As part of World AIDS Day on Wednesday, the University of Wisconsin-Madison will host more than a dozen events exploring the issues surrounding the disease. On Tuesday, the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Beefeaters Lounge in the Memorial Union. A panel discussion will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in room 2080 of Grainger Hall, 975 University Ave. Free HIV testing will be offered noon-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Gym, 716 Langdon St. Grace Episcopal Church will hold a memorial service on Wednesday at 7 p.m., 116 W. Washington Ave. Also on Wednesday, 7,000 red flags will be displayed on Bascom Hill to symbolize the number of people who die each day from AIDS-related illnesses.
