U.S. News Florida: Low-Cost Housing Receives $7 MillionSeptember 22, 2004 The Florida counties of Manatee and Sarasota on Monday received $7 million in federal Housing and Urban Development funds to be used for affordable housing programs and economic development. Among the disbursements, $397,000 is to go to the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program for Sarasota, which provides rental assistance and support services for people with HIV/AIDS and their families.
