International News Thailand Warned of HIV Infection ReboundAugust 24, 2005 Thailand must be vigilant about preventing a rebound of HIV infections, particularly among teenagers, drug users, and housewives, World Health Organization expert Daniel Tarantola told a press conference at the Thai Public Health Ministry on Saturday. Though the government has seen some success in controlling its epidemic over the last decade, signs point to a potential rebound of the disease, said Tarantola. "Risks are still high given the changing sexual behavior in society," he noted. Tarantola urged the government to appropriate more money for HIV/AIDS prevention and involve young people and communities in the process.
