Global Fund Approves New Grants to Haiti, China

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria today announced it has approved an additional $119 million in grants for projects in 16 countries, including China and Haiti. More than one-third of the total, or some $35.5 million, will go to Haiti, which has the Americas' worst HIV/AIDS epidemic. A new grant of $22.7 million will go to China's efforts to control TB in poor provinces. A project to control malaria in China's southern provinces of Yunnan and Hainan will receive $2.8 million.
