Roche Receives U.S. Approval for Hepatitis Drug

On Friday, the Swiss pharmaceutical firm Roche Holding said it had received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to use its hepatitis C virus drug Pegasys for HCV patients coinfected with HIV. The FDA cleared the treatment, the first hepatitis drug approved for use in HIV patients, to be used in combination with Roche's drug Copegus.
