Global Fund Allocates $67 Million to Ukraine to Fight AIDS
July 25, 2005 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria has allocated $67 million to Ukraine to combat AIDS in the next three years. The nation will begin receiving the money on Oct. 1, according to Viktor Rybchuk, chairperson of Ukraine's National Coordination Council for Stopping HIV Infection. About 2,000 of the country's 3,500 AIDS patients are now getting treatment, according to the Ukrainian Center for Prophylaxis of HIV/AIDS.
