U.S. News Massachusetts: Thousands Join Hub's AIDS WalkJune 7, 2005 At least 15,000 people turned out for Sunday's AIDS Walk 2005 at the Hatch Shell in Boston, said organizers. In honor of the walk's 20th anniversary, Mayor Thomas M. Menino proclaimed it AIDS Walk Day in Boston. "Unfortunately, we have all been brought together because of this disease, but we want people to know that we are all affected," said Rebecca Haag, executive director of AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. Walk proceeds will go toward HIV/AIDS prevention services and education programs for at-risk groups.
