HIV Cases Increase in North Dakota

March 28, 2005

The North Dakota Health Department recently announced it recorded 15 new HIV cases last year. The new infections occurred primarily in people ages 20-39, and about half were men who have sex with men, the department said. About one-quarter of new cases were heterosexually acquired. Since 1984, the state has documented 343 HIV cases.
