Retreat to the Redwood Forest
Tan Oak Park, a Place of Peace
Imagine a vast and beautiful forest dedicated forever to those that have lived with HIV/AIDS. A nature retreat and park for relaxation, stress reduction and community support in the midst of the dramatic consequences of HIV.
Welcome and Enjoy
Tan Oak Park, is a serene and restful place surrounded by scenic views.
Families and Friends United by AIDS was organized in 1990 to provide services by and for those impacted by AIDS/HIV.
We operate an historic Auto Park in Northern Mendocino County. Here in a peaceful supportive atmosphere, we offer to individuals and their partners the opportunity to rest, relax, plan and educate in a very safe haven.
Historic cottages and log cabins can be used for single, double, or family occupancy. The campground has bathrooms with hot showers. There are a limited number of hookups for recreational vehicles.
For individual and small group use, we are outfitting a communal kitchen with dining and meeting areas. Also offered is complete food service from our commercial kitchen for your convenience.
How to Utilize Our Park
HIV/AIDS-affected individuals with referrals please contact us for availability. When needed, as fundraising allows, we provide stipends to low-income individuals so they can travel to and use our facilities.
