France Provides an Additional $3 Million to Haiti for HIV/AIDS Fight

In Haiti, Brigitte Girardin, France's junior minister for cooperation, announced that the French government will provide the island nation with more than $3 million for education and fighting AIDS, in addition to around $45 million in aid. Over the weekend, the European Union lifted sanctions on the former French colony, unblocking nearly $90 million in assistance.
