On Saturday, the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services issued a health advisory for Hurricane Katrina evacuees taking shelter in Arkansas. Among the items of interest:
- People needing testing or treatment for HIV or other STDs may contact the nearest county health unit.
- TB patients requiring continuation of care, including drug therapy and monitoring, should notify local health units.
- HIV patients needing medicine, prescription refills, new prescriptions, doctor visits, laboratory testing, housing or related services may contact the following Ryan White Title II case managers or related organizations:
