Gen-Probe Gets FDA OK for STD Test

August 23, 2006

On Tuesday, San Diego-based Gen-Probe Inc. said the Food and Drug Administration had approved the company's Aptima Combo 2 test to be used to screen certain liquid Pap and vaginal swab specimens for chlamydia and gonorrhea. FDA had already approved the test for use with urine and certain other patient specimens.
