January 10, 2006

On Tuesday, thousands of activists, many from AIDS organizations, protested against the bilateral U.S.-Thai Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in the northern city of Chiang Mai. "I want to reassure protesters that my government will not sign the agreement if I find that we do not benefit from it," Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra told opponents.
