International News Roche to Spread Expertise in Making HIV DrugJanuary 12, 2006 Pharmaceutical maker Roche Holding AG said today it will offer generic manufacturers in sub-Saharan Africa and the world's least-developed nations the technical expertise to produce versions of saquinavir, a second-line HIV treatment. AIDS activists have been pressing drug companies to offer second-line treatments at reduced prices, following discounts on first-line drugs.
