International News January 18, 2006 The Indian Institute of Management in Ahmadabad, India's best-known business school, has introduced a weeklong course on managing HIV/AIDS programs for government policy makers, voluntary groups and others working in AIDS prevention and care. "The focus of the program is on managerial challenges involved in conducting HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs and their implementation," said Bakul Dholakia, the school's director. The course was first offered in December, he said, and "the response was exceptional, especially from people active in AIDS programs in the field. This has encouraged us to think of another course soon." The institute is developing a course to help government officials in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh improve their AIDS programs.
