New York: Lesbian AIDS Advocate Named Interim Chief

January 20, 2006

Dr. Marjorie Hill has been named the interim executive director of Gay Men's Health Crisis, succeeding Ana Oliveira, who ran the agency for six years. Oliveira will leave GMHC in late February to pursue other professional interests. Hill will lead GMHC while the board searches for a permanent director. Hill, a licensed clinical psychologist, has a long history with GMHC. She is currently the managing director for Community Health, and she has been director of the Women's Institute, both GMHC units, since 2004. She served on the GMHC board from 1994 to 2001, the last two years as a co-chair.
