International News Vietnam Gets $20 Million Asian Development Bank Grant to Fight AIDSJuly 10, 2006 A new campaign funded by the Asian Development Bank will seek to "boost access and use of condoms and knowledge of HIV/AIDS among youth, and fight dangerous practices such as needle sharing among drug users," according to ADB's Vietnam-based health specialist Lisa Studdert. Hanoi's population commission is to produce a TV drama series under the program, which will also seek to enlist entertainment and sports personalities to bring the prevention message to the nation's youth. According ADB, injection drug use and sexual transmission via sex workers are key routes of infection in Vietnam. Studdert estimated the campaign could prevent some 34,000 infections in the coming 20 years.
