California: Brinkman Named Executive Director of AIDS Project

June 23, 2006

Officials with the Desert AIDS Project on Wednesday named David. J. Brinkman as the agency's executive director. Brinkman, a former executive director for a Los Angeles agency that helps homeless youth, will start Aug. 1, replacing Allen Reese, who left DAP in October. "I've long admired the work done by the Desert AIDS Project and believe in its mission; I have a passion for its mission," said Brinkman. Russ Russell, president of DAP's board of directors, said he admired Brinkman's "vitality and vision" for the agency. Brinkman said he wants to increase the agency's outreach among minorities and women across the Coachella Valley.
