Massachusetts: Despite Rain, More Than 10,000 Walk, Run for AIDS in BostonJune 6, 2006 On Sunday, more than 10,000 people braved rain to participate in the annual AIDS Walk Boston and the Larry Kessler Run, both of which support HIV/AIDS prevention. The fundraiser benefits the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts; its executive director, Rebecca Haag, said the annual event usually raises about $1 million. "The weather was not going to hold anyone back," she said. "People came out to make sure they raised money to fund programs to prevent the spread of the disease."
