Honduras: Actress Ashley Judd Says AIDS Awareness Campaigning Has Changed Her Life

May 12, 2006

During an appearance in Honduras as part of a weeklong trip to Central America, US actress Ashley Judd said Monday that campaigning on behalf of AIDS awareness has "changed my life." "I have dedicated myself completely to helping others, and this activity has given my life meaning, in helping humanity," said the world ambassador for the Washington-based YouthAIDS group. While in Honduras, Judd met with Vice President Elvin Santos, first lady Xiomara Castro, AIDS patients, activists and other politicians. Earlier in the tour, Judd met with AIDS patients in Guatemala and visited Nicaragua. YouthAIDS promotes abstinence as the only 100 percent way to prevent HIV, as well as monogamy and proper condom use.
