U.S. News Indiana: New Medical Lab to Concentrate on AIDS ResearchMay 17, 2006 On Monday, the Indiana University School of Medicine Northwest announced it plans to use a $250,000 donation to help local researchers fight HIV/AIDS. On Wednesday, it will formally inaugurate the Northwest Indiana Health Research Institute, where an HIV research lab will be named for the Joseph A. Negri Trust, which donated the funds to help further regional HIV/AIDS-related research. Part of the funds have already been used to purchase equipment for the lab, which will be directed by Roman Dziarski, professor of microbiology and immunology and the university's lead HIV/AIDS researcher.
