Nigeria Orders AIDS Drugs from IndiaApril 11, 2001 The President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has ordered a $4 million purchase of AZT from India to assist those living with AIDS, according to Health Minister Alphonsus Nwosu. The drugs are expected in a few weeks. An estimated 5.4 percent of the population in Nigeria is HIV-positive.
