Wisconsin Governor McCallum Signs Bill to Expand Drug Treatment Grants

April 18, 2002

Wisconsin Governor, Scott McCallum signed legislation this week at the AIDS Resource Center that will expand eligibility for the AIDS/HIV Drug Reimbursement Program from people with incomes up to $17,720 a year to those with incomes up to $26,580 a year if federal money and manufacturer rebates are forthcoming. The Department of Health and Family Services has received a federal supplemental grant award to specifically expand program eligibility. "With this new measure, the reimbursement program would be able to ensure 100 additional people have access to lifesaving medications to treat their HIV infection," McCallum said.
