About 850 people took part in last Saturday's 2002 AIDS Walk of Tarrant County, Texas, and helped raise more than $105,000 for the AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) of Tarrant County, officials said. This year's new component, the "Virtual AIDS Walk," didn't go over well, organizers said. It allowed people who couldn't be present for the event to run their three miles on treadmills at two area gyms. "We're going to try it again next year," said Candi Vader, a spokesperson for AOC. "We had a lot of people calling about it, but they didn't make it to the gym. We're hoping that it will eventually catch on." The walk is the center's largest fund-raiser. Star-Telegram (Ft.
