New Mexico Awarded $3 Million in Federal Funding

April 2, 2002

Rep. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) announced Monday that the US Department of Health and Human Services, under the Ryan White CARE Act, has awarded more than $3 million to the New Mexico Department of Health to provide medical and support services for AIDS patients. "We must remain committed to not only finding a cure, but also to ensuring that people living with HIV and AIDS are able to receive the health care and support services they need," Udall said. More than 500,000 low-income people with HIV/AIDS have received care under the Ryan White program since it was enacted in 1991.
