United States TV Shows Rewarded for Fighting AIDS

April 3, 2002

Awards will be presented on April 27 to TV shows enlisted in the fight against AIDS. Tyne Daly ("Judging Amy," CBS), "Queer as Folk" (Showtime), "The Bold & the Beautiful" (CBS) and Black Entertainment Television are among those to be recognized for their work on behalf of AIDS awareness. The honors will be presented by TV CARES, an offspring of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Scheduled presenters at the festivities in North Hollywood include Amy Brenneman of "Judging Amy," Bill Brochtrup of "NYPD Blue" (ABC) and actor/singer Wilson Cruz.
