August 10, 2001

Kenyans are being urged to utilize free HIV/AIDS testing and counseling services offered at public health facilities countrywide. Launching a voluntary counseling and testing center for HIV/AIDS at the Kenyatta National Hospital Thursday in the capital Nairobi, Kenyan Public Health Minister Sam Ongeri said the center is among 250 the government plans to set up in provincial, district, subdistrict and mission hospitals across the country. The center, a collaborative project of the governments of Kenya, Japan and the United States, was funded under the United States-Japan common agenda for cooperation.
