Two Pilots Raise Money for Children

August 22, 2002

Two airline pilots have reached their goal of kayaking around Trinidad and Tobago in 12 days. Wayne Crooks and Jean Talma, both pilots for British West Indian Airways, finished their 340-mile trip Tuesday in Williams Bay in Caenage, where they departed nearly two weeks ago. The two men kayaked around Trinidad two years ago, but that journey alone took them ten days. The men's trip raised $18,400 for children, which will go to HIV/AIDS and cancer research, as well as programs for learning disabilities.
