A STEP Conference Review of The Ninth Annual Retrovirus Conference
Held in Seattle, Washington February 24-28, 2002

Over 3,500 researchers gathered recently in Seattle to discuss the latest laboratory and clinical advances about HIV. The main goal of the Ninth Retrovirus Conference is to facilitate translational research, or moving the latest laboratory advances into clinical research. While there were no major revolutionary findings, a lot of encouraging new information was presented in the 816 oral and poster presentations. The conference has an excellent Web site, where all the plenary sessions and symposia can be viewed in streaming video, and the abstracts searched (
