Iowa Finance Authority Awards $1.37 Million for AIDS Housing

An Iowa housing agency has awarded $1.37 million to help state residents with HIV/AIDS to obtain housing. The Iowa Finance Authority will distribute the money through six state nonprofit housing agencies and AIDS services organizations. Those centers include the Siouxland Community Health Center, AIDS Project of Central Iowa, American Red Cross Grant Wood Area Chapter, Family Service League, ICARE, and John Lewis Coffee Shop Inc. Agency officials said the money will help an estimated 200 people. The funds will be used for rent, utility deposits and payments, transportation and emergency shelter.
