Germany to Give Kyrgyzstan 5m Marks to Combat TB

February 23, 2001

Kyrgyz Health Minister, Tilekbek Meymanaliyev, announced this week that the German government has pledged 5 million marks to fight the spread of tuberculosis in Kyrgyzstan. The funds -- which will be given over the course of five years -- will be used for directly observed treatment and the purchase of medical equipment and drugs.
