July 23, 2002

Rep. Dave Weldon (R-Fla.) offered an amendment to the Housing Affordability for America Act of 2002 to allow states and localities to transfer federal funds provided by the Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS program to meet shortfalls in the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. The organization said stable housing and support services increase the ability of HIV/AIDS patients to access and comply with treatment.
