Correction: STD Cases Rise Sharply in 2 Counties; Syphilis Has Tripled Since 1998

The PNU summary of this article, published on July 5, 2001, incorrectly stated that the incidence of syphilis has increased 14 percent nationwide. In fact, syphilis has decreased 14 percent nationwide. Florida, however, has experienced a 53 percent increase in syphilis.
