More Than 10 Percent of Tanzania's Labor Force HIV-PositiveJune 18, 2001 In Dodoma, Tanzania, Abdalallah Kigoda, minister of state in the president's office, said Friday that more than 10 percent of the country's labor force is said to be HIV-positive. He said that at least 1.7 million Tanzanians had HIV by 2000; that 60 percent of patients with TB also have symptoms of HIV; and that HIV/AIDS has cut life expectancy in the country from 52 to 47 years.
