AIDS Awareness Advertising and Marketing

June 18, 2002

Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi stars in one of several new HIV awareness spots designed for Cable Positive, a media- and communications companies-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to AIDS awareness. The spots will break on June 27, National HIV Testing Day. The ad starring Mizrahi is titled "What You Need to Sleep With Me" and is one of several upcoming provocative spots encouraging HIV testing. Jennifer Brooke, its creator, also has shot four other spots promoting HIV testing using several Bridgehampton, N.Y., settings and local high school students as actors. The added benefit of scouting at local schools, she said, is that she often ends up correcting students' misinformation about HIV as well as having them appear in commercials to help others.
