Russians Admit to 300,000 HIV Cases
March 12, 2001 Russian health officials recently told Itar-Tass news agency that some 300,000 residents have contracted HIV since 1987, according to new statistics from the United Nations. Previously, Russian officials had denied figures cited by international health agencies.
