High School Students Tested for Tuberculosis

May 11, 2001

In suburban Dayton, Ohio, health officials are testing about 250 Fairborn High School students for TB after one case of the disease was confirmed. "Those at greatest risk were tested," said Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell. "Until we have those results, it is impossible to predict exactly how many individuals may have become infected." Last year 340 cases of TB were reported in Ohio.
