Sudan to Deport Any Foreigner Suffering from AIDS, Immigration Official SaysMay 3, 2001 The Ministry of Interior in Sudan has authorized measures to regulate the stay of foreigners in the country in an attempt to limit the spread of AIDS. The immigration department has tightened the rules governing the granting of residency status to foreigners in Sudan unless it is confirmed that they are free of AIDS. Brig Bashir Ahmad Bashir, the director of the executive office of the immigration department, said any foreigner found with AIDS would be deported.
