UN Sets Up Task Force for General Assembly Special Session on AIDS

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Friday announced a new task force to prepare for the upcoming General Assembly special session on HIV/AIDS in June. Annan told heads of various UN agencies that the goal of the task force is to "increase the political energy that is now progressing so well," and to transform it into action in the remaining seven weeks before the special session, according to Annan spokesperson Fred Eckhard.Adapted from:
